It is that time of year, again. Or, I should say, it is always that time of year here, on Amelia Island. We are the destination island for many beautiful beach weddings as well as traditional weddings. The areas on and surrounding Amelia are gorgeous any time of year, but especially in the spring. The temperature is just perfect and the crowds have not yet arrived for the summer. Some of my favorite venues for weddings in this area are: The Ritz Carlton Hotel – the beach or courtyard, or any other location on its beautiful grounds, with SALT Restaurant or one of the ballrooms as a perfect reception choice, Omni Amelia Island Plantation – the Amelia Plantation Chapel or the beach with the beautiful Walker’s Landing, on the river, for the reception. There is also the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Inn, with its gorgeous beach view, which offers ceremony and reception venues. The bed and breakfasts in the area are always gorgeous and the perfect venue and are just right for many weddings. One of my favorites is The Amelia Island Williams House. The weddings there are just beautiful in the gardens under the beautiful magnificent oaks. The Elizabeth Point Lodge, on the coast, is beautiful, as well as the Fairbanks House, The Florida House and so many others. The local golf courses offer weddings and receptions and I have had the privilege of photographing at most of those. The local churches, several of which are historic, are just beautiful. I believe I have been in most, if not all, of the downtown churches to shoot a wedding or several weddings. I have taken many weddings at the Ribault Club, just south of Amelia, and a spectacular venue. It has so much to offer. So….take a look around Amelia when it comes time to plan your wedding. And, if you are in the market for a photographer who will capture your day, beautifully and artistically, with spontaneity and romance, give me a call. I would love the chance to talk to you about your special day.
And–don’t forget to plan for your engagement session. The beaches on Amelia, Big Talbot with its beautiful driftwood, downtown Fernandina Beach, and a few other ‘secret’ places make for some beautifully romantic images for your special time. These photos are some I took recently and has nothing to do with weddings. I just couldn’t resist sharing them from one of my very recent family sessions. Love these kids! Oh–did I mention I love child and family photography, too???
